ORGANISMS-Facultitive gram-negative rods,nonlactose fermenting orgaanisms.
HABITATE-Humen colon only.
TRANSMISSION-By the fecal-oral route.
PATHOGENESIS-Invades the reticuloendothelial system.endotoxin in cell wall cause fever.capsule is a virulence factors.no exotoxin known.decreaded stomach acid resulting from ingestion of antacids or gastrectomy predisposes to salmonella infections.
PREVENTION-Public health measures.eg,sewage disposal,chlorination of the water supply,stool cultures for food handlers and washing preor to food handling.
VACCINATION-Both aa killed and live attenuated vaccine are available.
BIO-CHEMIC MANAGEMENT-
1.Kali phos-main remedy.
2.Ferrum p-first stage of thyphoid fever,with the symptoms of heat,inflammation and pain.
3.Kali mure-in second stage of thyphoid fever,to restore the integrity of the affected tissue with constipation.
4.Kali sulp-when the temperature raised in evening.
5.Nat mure-when there are malignant symptoms,such as-stupor,drowsiness,watery vimiting and stool,twitchings etc present.
