ANEURISM

DEFINITION-When part of a blood vessel  or cardiac chamber swells,either the blood vessels damaged or there is a weakness in the wall of the blood vessel,the swelling can be quite small or very large,when large it tends to extend along the blood vessels.as the aneurism grows there is a greater risk of rupture -this can lead to severe hemorrhage and others complication,including sudden death may occure.
TYPES-
A.AORTIC ANEURYSM-
 IT OCCURS IN THE AORTA,CAN BE ABDOMINAL OR THORACIC
B.CEREBRAL ANEURISM-
IT OCCURS IN THE ARTERY IN THE CEREBRAL REGION OF INTRACRANIAL AREA
CAUSE-
CEREBRAL ANEURISM-
a.Weakness in the artery wall.
b.Hypertension.
c.Arteriosclerosis.
ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURISM-
a.Atherosclerosis-accumulation of fatty deposits on the artery wall.
b.Cholesterols.
c.Smoking.
d.Hypertension.
e.Genetic link.
f.Vasculitis.
g.Cocaine use.
THORACIC AORTIC ANEURISM-
a.Morfan syndroms-genetic disorder of the connective tissue.
b.Previous aortic injury,traumatic injury.
SYMPTOMS-
CEREBRAL ANEURISM-
a.Suddenly very severe headach.
b.Nausea,vomiting,eyesight problems.
c.Scizures,loss of conciousness,confusion.
d.Photophobia.
if The cerebraal aneurism burst it will cause bleeding in the brain and a hemorrhagic strok may occure.It also cause intracranial hematoma.
AORTIC ANEURISM-
a.Throbbing sensaation in the abdomen.
b.Back pain.
c.Abdominal pain-this paain frequently spreads towards the back.
d.Coughing ,loss of voice.
e.Breathing difficulties.
f.Problems swallowing.
